New Teaser from September 17th
Today we’ve been given another new teaser of the upcoming Star Trek Discovery television series, which airs on streaming services in just a week from today.
There is a lot of new footage and dialogue in the teaser, including what appears to be an entire armada of Starfleet vessels.
But before we give away too many details or any spoilers, here is the trailer released September 17th.
Previous Footage With New Updates
One thing that we noticed while watching the latest Star Trek Discovery teaser is that some footage has been updated. For example, some of the details that we got in the second trailer were either masked out so as not to reveal secrets, or the original CGI was incomplete at the time of the trailer’s release.
Here we see the same footage from the second trailer vs the teaser released today (September 17 2017). In the top image, we can’t quite make out what’s going in the background behind the weapon. But in the teaser from today (bottom), those details have been cleared up and we can see there are Starfleet vessels engaged in the battle.

This updated footage confirms that it won’t just be the USS Shenzhou and USS Discovery engaged in the battle with the Klingons, but an entire Starfleet armada. While this image may show the Discovery in the upper background, there are a total of at least four Starfleet vessels in this sequence of the teaser.
The only other Starfleet vessel that we know of up to now is the USS Europa.

Another surprise was that we may have finally been introduced to another character of the series. Osnullus (scroll down on link) may have made his/her/their first appearance.
Described only as having a very large head by media during their set walk through on August 21st with Alex Kurtzman, little is know about the Osnullus character so far. Which actor plays the character is also unknown at this time.

Star Trek: Discovery premieres on CBS All Access on September 24th, Space Channel in Canada on the 24th, and on Netflix for the rest of the world on the 25th.
