First details about Discovery’s second season
It may be a long way off from now, possibly as far away as early 2019 by some reports, but we have our first concrete details about the second season of Star Trek: Discovery.
Last week, we reported work has now started on Discovery‘s second season. This week we learn a bit about what the future of the hit series may give us.
The details come in through the usual channels – social media. This time, series producer Aaron Harberts chimed in on Twitter about some species we may get to see in the second season of the show.
When asked if he could give Star Trek fans Andorians and Tellarites in the show’s second season, Harberts offered a short but concrete answer.
Definitely.

Both Tellarites and Andorians are founding species of the United Federation of Planets, along with Humans and Vulcans in the year 2161. All four species are featured at length in Star Trek: Enterprise.

While Vulcans have been fairly prominent in Discovery with Sarek and Admiral Terral, and obviously humans are playing a large part, we have yet to see either of the other two founding member species.
Harberts did not provide any further details about the appearances of Tellarites or Andorians in the second season.
